EB-5 Investor, Dr. Chandra Ojha, Explains why Reauthorization is Imperative for so Many Including Himself

Wednesday, December 1, 2021 - Since its inception the EB-5 program has created hundreds of thousands of jobs, bolstered local economies, and has, and continues to benefit to the United States. Unfortunately, when the EB-5 Regional Center Program expired in June of 2021, it put roughly 80,000 immigrant investors and their families, like Dr. Chandra Ojha in an uncertain position, awaiting updates on the program’s renewal.

In a recently published article in El Paso Matters, Dr. Chandra Ojha details the substantial contribution he has made to the U.S. as a doctor for the medically underserved as well as the ongoing struggles he continues to face due to immigration backlogs and the lapse of the Regional Center Program.

“Without the EB-5 Program, thousands of real, prospective, and current American lives are thrown into complete uncertainty. Many of them are physicians, with the ability to help so many thousands and thousands of Americans.”
As we head into 2022, IIUSA president, Bob Kraft continues to work with industry colleagues and Capitol Hill offices to lead reauthorization efforts for the EB-5 Regional Center Program. We continue to urge the United States government to work toward a swift solution so that our investors can continue to contribute to this nation and finally make the U.S. their home. Dr. Ojha’s story is just one of thousands. EB-5 investors make substantial impacts not only through their investments into job-creating economic development projects but also through the role they play in their communities.

We applaud Dr. Chandra Ojha.
