The Water Council Receives SBA Regional Innovation Cluster Award

The U.S. Small Business Administration, better known as the SBA, selected The Water Council, a FIrstPathway Partners' project, as a 2014 recipient of the prestigious award. According to Waterworld, recipients of the award “focus on the most effective approaches to linking small businesses to regional networks of leading research, commercialization tools and financing.”

Milwaukee Mayor, Tom Barrett, serves on the Board of Directors at The Water Council and believes, “Milwaukee has a history of successfully building small businesses in the water technology industry, as evidenced by its current list of multi-national water technology corporations, many of which began in the city more than a century ago.”

Milwaukee’s history relating to the water technology industry will continue to build as The Water Council presses forward on its mission to access resources. This will nourish its grow and employ even more people, leaving a rich economic impact on the city.

The SBA Regional Innovation Award adds to The Water Council’s portfolio of awards and serves as a reminder of the monumental growth and success of the project.
