Kimpton Journeyman Wins 2017 Mayor’s Design Award

On Thursday May 19th the Kimpton Journeyman was presented the 2017 Mayor’s Design Award at the UWM School of Architecture and Urban Planning. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett proudly presented the award to Patrick Gaskin, the General Manager of the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel. The Mayor stated that projects like the Kimpton Journeyman are an economic driver and contribute to his mission of “making Milwaukee a home for everyone.”   The Mayor’s Design Awards are an ongoing effort to recognize design excellence throughout the City of Milwaukee. For the past 20 years recipients have been recognized for adding value to their communities through the restoration and enhancement of properties that contribute to the character of their surroundings. The Kimpton Journeyman has been a unique project in that the new building was expertly designed to blend into Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. Mr. Gaskin said that people are often surprised to hear that there was only a parking lot in its place before becoming a hotel.  FirstPathway Partners is excited to contribute to the list of unique projects around the City of Milwaukee.
