China Wins First Medal at Sochi Olympics

FirstPathway Partners congratulates China on winning its first medal at the Sochi Winter Olympics this year. 17-year old skater, Han Tianyu, skated his way to victory, earning a silver medal in the short-track 1,500 meters.

Han, from northeast China’s Liaoning province, is the first success for China so far. With the women’s 500 meter race approaching, China hopes for more. To complement his win, Chen Dequan, another Chinese racer, finished fifth; however, one of China’s most anticipated skaters, Wang Mang, withdrew last month due to injury.

Han finished with a time of 2 minutes 15.055 seconds, trailing Charles Hamelin of Canada by a mere 0.07 seconds.
