What the January 1st EB-5 Investment Increase Means for Investors

An important deadline is fast approaching: January 1st, 2027. On that date, the minimum EB-5 investment amounts are scheduled to increase.

EB-5 applicants who file Form I-526E before January 1st can invest at the current amounts: $800,000 for qualifying targeted employment area (TEA) projects and $1,050,000 for non-TEA projects. The final adjusted amounts have not yet been announced.

However, based on the latest available inflation data, the new amount for TEA projects could be $900,000 or higher. If that estimate turns out to be correct, failing to file Form I-526E before January 1st, 2027, could cost EB-5 investors.

Filing ahead of the deadline avoids significantly higher costs. Preparing a petition takes time, initiating the process now ensures adequate room to complete due diligence, compile documentation, and submit without last-minute pressure.
