India Ranks 4th in Foreign Direct Investment into the U.S.

India has gone from ranking 11th in foreign direct investment into the United States just five years ago, to fourth in 2013. Investors native to India are becoming more common in the U.S. “As far as attracting investment into the United States is concerned, they are looking at all sectors; manufacturing, services, technology, a number of sectors”, says Vinai Thummalapally, Executive Director of SelectUSA in the U.S. Department of Commerce. In an interview he had with CNBC-TV18’s Malvika Jain, Vinai talks about India remaining at the very top in terms of focus markets for opportunities to attract investments in the States.

According to a White House report, India is among the fastest growing investor sector in the United States, and as the U.S.-India economic relationship deepens, investment from India contributes to the growth and vibrancy of the American economy and in the creation of jobs in the United States.
