The Global Water Center Partners with Water Alliance
"Creating a global community of practice around sharing water technology and innovation" is the goal of the partnership, as stated by Helen Scott, Research Coordinator of Global Compact Cities Program.
The Water Alliance comprises a unique partnership of public and private companies, governmental agencies, and educational institutions involved in water technology in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. Water Alliance's motto is that technological development and innovation is needed to develop new markets, which in turn creates new business opportunities for the water tech sector. The Water Alliance has built their organization on the principles of innovative and sustainable water technology that can be used not just in the Netherlands, but worldwide, such as the Global Water Center in Milwaukee, WI.
Water Alliance visited the Global Water Center in Milwaukee, a one-of-a-kind water research and business accelerator center, to celebrate the fact that "Milwaukee is the freshwater capital of the world". Hein Molenkamp, Director of Water Alliance, believes the Water Alliance's programs could benefit from learning what has worked for the Global Water Center and connecting with its established network of water tech companies.
