BMO Tower Completes Massive Foundation Pour
On June 1st, 2018 BMO Harris Bank Tower reached a major milestone when construction crews began a massive overnight foundation pour. The foundation pour was one of the largest in the history of the state of Wisconsin. Crews worked non-stop to pour approximately 6,700 cubic yards of concrete, weighing nearly 14 thousand tons (12.7 metric tons). In addition to pouring a staggering amount of concrete, 84 miles (135 Kilometers) of rebar was encapsulated within the foundation.
Mark Irgens, CEO and Manager of Irgens, the Tower’s developer, said the “concrete foundation pour is a major milestone in the construction of the BMO Tower.” He also commented that soon after the pour, the building will begin to take shape and “the public will see the progress being made.”
The BMO Tower is scheduled for completion in late 2019. It will add more than 380,000 sq. feet (28,614 sq meters) of rentable Class A office space and serve as a regional headquarters to BMO Harris Bank.
