45th Annual Wisconsin International Trade Conference: Luncheon

An estimated 300 guests attended a luncheon honoring local international business leaders during the 45th Annual Wisconsin International Trade Conference. Notable guests included Mayor Tom Barrett, Secretary Leinenkugel, Governor Doyle, The Tianjin Economic-Technical Development Area (TEDA) Delegation, Ying Wang, Bob Kraft, Bangjie He, Tim Sheehy, Gale Klappa and the Chicago Chinese Consulate.

Bob Kraft, China Council Co-Chair, later participated in a closed meeting to discuss the expansion of business between China and Wisconsin. Important relationships cited included sister city Ningbo, sister State/Province Heilongjiang, and the MOU between China and Wisconsin.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2009 the Metropolitan Milwaukee Area Chamber (MMAC) hosted the 45th Annual Wisconsin International Trade Conference attended by honored guests the Tianjin Economic-Technical Development Area (TEDA) Delegation, Bangjie He Senior Executive Representative to the US from Ningbo, Mary Meehan, Bob Kraft and the Chicago Chinese Consulate.

Over 100 business leaders kicked off the day with a conference hosted by FirstPathway’s Bob Kraft entitled “Business in China.” Featured speakers included Ted Fishman(courtesy Alverno College), best-selling author of China Inc., Ying Wang, Julie Lee, David Liu, Tina Chan, and Ni Xiangyu, Vice Chairman of TEDA.

Wisconsin Hosts China Investment Promotion Agency

FirstPathway Partners was duly honored to host the Investment Promotion Agency Delegation of the Peoples Republic of China (CIPA) Thursday, April 30. An estimated 90 invited guests were in attendance for the luncheon featuring distinguished guests Zhang Yingxin, Vice Director General of the CIPA, Secretary Richard Leinenkugel, and Director Mary Regal of The Wisconsin Department of Commerce. Event hosts included FirstPathway Partners, Foley & Lardner, the MMAC, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce and the Milwaukee Department of City Development.

The delegation was briefed on Milwaukee, FirstPathway’s EB5 program, freshwater development and preemptive international legal measures, during a private morning conference. Other notable events included a tour of The Park East Development better known as The Pabst City and a private banquet hosted by Governor Doyle in Madison.

During her visit Zhang Yingxin, spoke of the importance of global economies and China’s ties to Wisconsin. Her moving speech gave great indication to the success yielded by cooperation between the two nations. The state of Wisconsin was honored to host such influential and cooperative economic partners.
