Lincoln Stone is certified by the State Bar of California Board
of Legal Specialization as a Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law.
Following studies in law at the University of Notre Dame and a federal court
clerkship with Judge Robert A. Grant, Mr. Stone started his career in
immigration law in 1987 with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. In
the earliest of Mr. Stone's 20 years of private practice, his experience
included immigration law as well as business transactions and litigation.
Mr. Stone is renowned internationally as an expert in the complex area
of immigration law concerning investors and entrepreneurs. Mr. Stone's private
sector clients include high net worth individual investors from all over the
world, entrepreneurs and start-up enterprises, as well as U.S. businesses and
public agencies that view immigrant investors as a source of capital. Mr. Stone
is a frequent speaker and author on the subject of investors and entrepreneurs.
He is Editor-in-Chief of the book Immigration Options for Investors and
Entrepreneurs, published by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Mr. Stone counsels U.S. employers on compliance issues and maintaining
an employment-eligible workforce. Mr. Stone also guides employers through the
complex regulatory maze in obtaining residence status and non-immigrant worker
visas for their employees. Representative clients include both closely-held and
publicly-traded companies engaged in business spanning a broad spectrum of the
economy.
The diversity of Mr. Stone's immigration practice has provided
the opportunity to represent many scientists, researchers and scholars, and
other clients with extraordinary ability. Mr. Stone occasionally represents
clients in immigration and federal courts.
Mr. Stone is active with
various bar associations. Presently, Mr. Stone is Chair of AILA's National
Committee on Pro Bono Services, and he is a Commissioner on the Immigration and
Nationality Law Advisory Commission of the State Bar of California Board of
Legal Specialization.
